Annual General Meeting
The 2025 Annual General Meeting of the Waikanae Estuary Care Group Inc. will be held at the Otaihanga Boating Club, on Wednesday September 3rd, 7.00 to 9.00pm.
All Welcome
The General Business part of the AGM will be preceded by our guest speaker Tom Kay, who will be presenting on “Making Room for Rivers.”
Tom is an organiser and spokesperson for the freshwater campaigning group Choose Clean Water, with expertise in freshwater science, including geomorphology and ecology. He has been working for several years to push decision-makers and policy-writers to 'make room for rivers’ and protect their natural character and habitat, while protecting the communities around them from flooding.
Following a very successful planting at Otaihanga, our next volunteer planting is scheduled for Saturday 23rd August. We will be planting between the nursery track and Takahe Drive. Please meet at the nursery, Hana Udy Place. Planting will commence at 9.00am, and tools and gloves will be provided. We will finish planting no later than 10.45am and enjoy a well-earned morning tea. We look forward to your support. Feel free to bring a friend, and encourage others to join us.
