Speaker: Russell Bell presenting on Eco-corridors. Given that the estuary plays an important role as a feeding, roosting and nesting site for several migratory birds, this is a very releavant topic.

Volunteer Planting - Saturday 12th September 2026
Greetings to all our wonderful volunteers, and to those of you who would like to help us enhance the Reserve. Thanks to all those who made it to our volunteer plantings so far this year. Our last scheduled volunteer planting for this year is on Saturday 12th September, 9.00am to 11.00am. Please meet at the nursery, Hana Udy Place, Paraparaumu Beach. Gloves, tools and morning tea will be provided. Hope to see you there! Feel free to bring a friend and encourage others to join us and help finish our 2026 planting on a high note.
Health & Safety Notice: When working in the Reserve, please ensure your clothing and footwear are appropriate for expected weather conditions (cold, wet or hot) and the terrain (such as holes, hidden objects, blackberry, overhead branches). Trip hazards and slippery tracks are a possibility. Stay clear of waterways. Be cautious if you have allergies and carry the necessary medication. Enjoy your time in the Reserve and please avoid blocking pathways used by other users. Report any accidents, injuries or possible hazards to the H&S Coordinator (021 071 5364).
